Do you have an interest in supporting the local community?

As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are privately funded and rely on donations from local businesses and individuals. 


To become a Board Member, each individual member must be able to acquire contributions from local business and individuals to help sustain Crime Stopper's viability for future years.

Social Media Manager

The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who will play a critical role in creating original digital content across various social media platforms. 


Responsibilities:

Manages and executes ongoing social media activities in alignment with corporate and brand social media platforms including, but not limited to, the development and execution of campaigns delivered across various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube, and Pinterest.


Monitors trends and new social media marketing opportunities as they become available and leverages them to execute new campaigns.

Manages conversations with followers in a consistent brand voice across all channels and participates in dialogue around trending topics, popular hashtags, current and live events.


Engage online audiences, both reactively and proactively, ultimately empowering others to talk about the brand


Willingness to experiment and innovate while protecting the company’s brand and staying in compliance with all regulatory, FTC, and company policies related to Social Media activities

Proficient in digital and social media across paid, specifically in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat and other emerging platforms.


Requirements:

• Strong oral and written communication skills required

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business Management.

• At least 5 years in marketing with emphasis on digital/social media.

• Previous experience working in a corporate environment with a social media following of over 25k people.

• Excellent customer service skills.


Preferred:

• Bilingual, Spanish/Others.

• Knowledge of and at least 2 years of experience in Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Illustrator CS, Adobe InDesign CS

• Able to use a wide range of media including photography and computer aided design


 Service on Crime Stoppers of Nevada’s Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties.

Board Member

Responsibilities: 

The Board will support the work of Crime Stoppers of Nevada and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by the Executive Board, the relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. 


Specific Board Member responsibilities include: 


Fundraising

Board Members will consider Crime Stoppers of Nevada a philanthropic priority and make and/or receive annual donations that reflect that priority. 


Board Members primary function is to solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals. Crime Stoppers of Nevada expects to have 100 percent of Board Members make and/or receive annual contributions to support our mission.


Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about Crime Stoppers of Nevada’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.


Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:


  • Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector 
  • A commitment to and understanding of Crime Stoppers of Nevada’s beneficiaries, preferably based on experience 
  • Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals 
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Crime Stoppers of Nevada’s beneficiaries

Grant Writer

We are looking for a Grant Writer to write grant proposals for our organization. The Grant Writer will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. You will apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. You will collaborate with team members in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.


To ensure success you need to write well, have proficient knowledge of fundraising methods, and be committed to the mission you are representing. Preferred applicants are deadline-driven team players with outstanding multitasking abilities.


Grant Writer Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission.
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs.
  • Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy.
  • Identifying grant funding opportunities.
  • Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
  • Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • Collaborating with Executive Director and Director of Development to send funders newsletters, and to promote on-site tours.
  • Collaborating with Director of Development to compile an annual report.
  • Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.


Grant Writer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in creative writing or related field.
  • 2+ years of grant writing experience.
  • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
